Billing of Chat Out-of-Package Usage
This document explains the detailed on-demand (out-of-plan) pricing for Chat, including overage MAU, community message delivery volume, text message translation, cloud search, cloud push, and server-side API rate-limit tuning.
Note:
Except for Cloud Push, all on-demand billed items must be used together with a Chat monthly plan.
Free trial:
Community message delivery volume, text message translation, and cloud search support free trials.
When your account clicks the Free trial button for that feature in the Console, you receive a trial quota that covers that feature’s usage under your account for the first time.
Once the trial quota is fully used up, any overage is charged according to the out-of-plan overage pricing rules. The trial quota is valid for one month and expires automatically.
In the tables below, "-" means not applicable or not available.
Overage MAU
MAU (Monthly Active Users): after you call Chat SDK Login and establish a long connection with the Chat backend, MAU increments by 1. Each user login to Chat in the current month counts as 1 MAU. Repeated logins by the same user do not add up.

Use the Chat SDK Login operation as needed for your business to avoid generating an unusually high MAU.
Effective April 1, 2026, out-of-plan overage MAU fees will be adjusted. For the effective rules and price details, see the Official Announcement.
Community message delivery volume
Community messages include regular messages sent by community members, as well as notification messages generated by the community (join/leave notifications, community profile change notifications, system notifications, etc.).

Text message translation
Provides instant online translation for text messages and supports multi-language bidirectional translation. By default, the translated text length for each message is no more than 300 characters. If it exceeds the limit, it will be counted as multiple messages.

Cloud Search (Singapore data center only)
Provides cloud search capabilities for messages. You can quickly locate and index relevant messages based on keywords. Cloud search includes two billing dimensions:

Cloud Push
Provides stable, timely, and diverse push services. Push plugins support regular message pushes and all-user/tag pushes, and provide full push lifecycle query, data statistics, and issue troubleshooting services.

Audio and Video Call Fees
When using Chat audio or video calling features, TRTC products are used at the same time. These costs are billed independently for each TRTC product. For details, see TRTC Pricing Overview.
Billing Examples
Scenario: An enterprise uses Pro Plus (1,299 USD/month). The actual usage this month is as follows:

Total for this month: 1,572 USD
